MyKehila.com is a Web-based service that enables synagogues to easily and inexpensively establish their very own website that keeps congregants informed of shul activities and simplifies administration. MyKehila facilitates quick, easy online payments and fundraising. MyKehila is an important tool in ensuring a strong, vibrant community for years to come. My shul already has a website. What's the benefit of MyKehila.com for my congregation? MyKehila.com enables your synagogue to create a website and operate it free of charge, taking advantage of the latest Internet technology. No prior technical knowledge is required to set up or operate the site. With MyKehila.com, you can also manage your own forums useful for shiurim, upload pictures and video, save on postage by sending electronic newsletters, mass emails and text messages to members. Manage all information relevant to the synagogue in a centralized manner, generate reports, collect membership dues and donations—all online at MyKehila.com. What features does MyKehila.com offer? My shul's needs are constantly changing. Am I able to customize the features that my congregation requires? MyKehila.com offers a variety of services. You may select those that meet the specific needs of your synagogue, changing them if and when you see fit. Technical Questions How do I choose my site's design? While setting up your site, you will be able to select the design that you prefer. MyKehila.com will automatically apply your selection to your website. You may change your site design whenever you wish. My time is limited. How long does it take to set up the website? Setting up your MyKehila.com website takes only a few minutes. The user-friendly interface and step-by-step instructions make set-up a cinch for those with even the most basic of computer knowledge. Will I receive technical support? Yes. MyKehila staff is at your service when it comes to building your site and to maintaining it over the long term. Send questions via the Contact Us link. How do I build my home page? After entering the MyKehila.com home page, enter the email address and password that you used to build the site. Click on the "Edit" button. A new window will open, where you can add your synagogue's logo, text, photos, and more. When finished, click "Update". Your home page will then be ready. To change photos, click "Remove Photo". Other easy-to-use navigation options appear on the page. How are requests to the gabai and administration prepared? Click on "Requests to Gabai/Administration". Fill in required fields and click "Send". Select the parties you wish to receive the request from a list that will appear. Click "Send" again. The request may be canceled by clicking "Cancel". How do I upload pictures and video to the site? Click on "Photos and Video" then "Add Photos and Video". Enter description. Click "Browse" and select photo or video to be uploaded. A photo can be selected to represent a video. Click "Confirm". How do I create and send shiur content? After setting up your site, easy-to-follow instructions for creating and distributing shiur content guides you through the process. Can I use my own design and pictures? Yes! What operating system do I require to run MyKehila.com? MyKehila.com works with most common operating systems including Windows XP and Windows XP Professional. How can congregants make payments via MyKehila? In future, congregants will be able to make credit card payments via a secure server. How do I return to the MyKehila homepage when surfing the Internet? To return to the MyKehila homepage, simply click on the MyKehila logo and you will be returned to the homepage. More questions?
